Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, or Zoom's chat features, properly set up so your team actually uses it for day-to-day messaging instead of reverting to email chains.

Cloud File Storage & Sync

Whether you use SharePoint, OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive, or Egnyte, we help set up, secure, and migrate between whichever platform your business runs on, with permissions that actually make sense.

License Management

We manage your licensing, right-sizing plans, adding and removing users, tracking costs, and making sure you're not overpaying for seats you don't use.

Migration Services

Moving between platforms or from a local mail server? We handle the full migration: email, contacts, calendars, and files, in either direction, with minimal disruption.

Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace?

We support both platforms, so our recommendation isn't shaped by what we'd rather sell you. If you're not sure which one fits your business, our comparison guide breaks down the real decision.

Domain & DNS

Email security starts at your domain, not your inbox.

Where your domain's DNS is hosted matters more than most businesses realize. Whether your DNS records live with your registrar, a service like Cloudflare, or your email provider itself, that's where the records controlling spam filtering and email authentication actually live: SPF, DKIM, and DMARC. If those records are missing, misconfigured, or left over from a previous provider, attackers can spoof your domain in phishing emails even if your mailboxes themselves are locked down tight.

Spam filtering is only half the picture. The other half is proving to the rest of the internet that mail claiming to be from your domain actually came from you. We configure and maintain these records as part of every email deployment, and we offer a few free tools if you want to check your own setup first:

Why it matters

Most cloud email deployments have security gaps and licensing waste.

Whether your team is on Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, what you actually get depends on how the tenant was set up. Newer Microsoft 365 tenants start with Security Defaults, which require MFA registration and block legacy authentication. Older tenants, tenants where those defaults were switched off to make room for Conditional Access, and tenants carrying incomplete policies or long-standing exceptions are a different story. Defender features vary by license and often sit unconfigured. On Google Workspace, similar gaps exist around login security, sharing permissions, and audit logging.

On the licensing side, it's common to find businesses paying for plans that don't match their actual needs, or paying for seats that belong to employees who left years ago. A proper audit typically finds meaningful monthly savings on either platform.

For businesses in healthcare, legal, or financial services, cloud email and collaboration tools need to be configured to meet compliance requirements. That means proper data retention policies, email archiving, and audit logging, not just turned on and handed to employees.

Define Edge supports both Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. We deploy from scratch, inherit and clean up existing tenants, and manage both platforms on an ongoing basis. We also provide basic end-user training so your team actually uses the tools they're paying for.

Common questions

Email & Cloud FAQ.

Can you migrate us from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365?
Yes. We handle Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 migrations including email, contacts, calendars, and Google Drive files to OneDrive or SharePoint. We plan the cutover to minimize downtime and communicate clearly with your team throughout the process.
How long does a Microsoft 365 migration take?
For a small business of 5–20 users, the email migration itself typically takes 1–3 days once we've done the planning and pre-staging work. The full project including configuration, security setup, and training usually spans one to two weeks depending on complexity and your team's availability.
Do you provide training for our staff?
Yes. We provide practical onboarding for your team covering the tools they'll actually use: Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint. We focus on the workflows that matter for your business rather than a generic feature walkthrough.
What Microsoft 365 plan do most businesses need?
Most businesses do well on Microsoft 365 Business Basic or Business Standard. If you need advanced security features like Defender for Business, Intune for device management, or Azure AD Premium, Business Premium is worth the upgrade. We'll recommend the right plan based on your actual needs, not the most expensive option.
Is our data backed up in Microsoft 365?
Not in the way most people assume. Microsoft protects the service and gives you retention policies, recycle bins, and version history, which cover a lot of everyday mistakes. What those native features may not cover is your own retention requirements, point-in-time recovery, independence from the platform, and ransomware resilience. We assess whether third-party backup is warranted and deploy it as part of a complete data protection strategy.
